Steve Chettle is leaving Notts County to become manager of Basford United.
The former Nottingham Forest and Barnsley defender, who joined the Meadow Lane backroom team on a full-time basis in August 2018, will begin work with the Evo-Stik Premier Division side in pre-season.
As well as playing an important first-team coaching role at Notts, Chettle has had two spells as caretaker manager. He also guided the Magpies’ reserves side to the final of this season’s Central League Cup.
He has previous managerial experience from his time with Ilkeston Town and everyone at Meadow Lane wishes him the very best of luck in his new challenge.
