Young keeper scoops LFE award

31 October 2018

Young goalkeeper Max Culverwell has been named in League Football Education’s ‘The 11’ for October.

The accolade acknowledges the on and off-the-field efforts of Under 18s across the EFL and celebrates their development as players, as well as their academic progression.

The shot-stopper has been included in October’s list after featuring in first-team squads regularly throughout the early part of the season and looks set to achieve distinction grades in the classroom.

The 17-year-old has impressed for Craig Gordon’s Under 18 side and his efforts have been recognised by the LFE, earning him an accolade that players including Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ademola Lookman have done previously.

LFE regional officer Ian King said: “Max has been a model apprentice. He has shown great dedication academically in addition to his playing development and deserves recognition for his efforts in all aspects of the programme.”
