Defender Pierce Bird has been named in Northern Ireland Under 21s’ squad for the second time this season, ahead of their two European Championship qualifiers.
After making his international debut when he started a friendly match in Luxembourg in early September, the 19-year-old then came on as a substitute as the Green and White Army recorded a famous qualifying win away to Spain.
Bird will now hope to be involved in the trip to Iceland on Thursday 11 October and the home match against Slovakia on Tuesday 16 October.
Bird will be unavailable for Notts’ Checkatrade Trophy game against Newcastle United Under 21s on Tuesday 9 October.
