Steve Chettle with the latest on Notts' injured troops

Enzio Boldewijn will miss Notts County’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Carlisle United on Tuesday night with a knee injury.

The winger was forced off inside the opening 10 minutes of Saturday’s draw with Morecambe and the severity of the problem is still to be confirmed with the Dutchman awaiting the results of a scan.

Caretaker boss Steve Chettle, who had better news to report on Kane Hemmings and Jon Stead, says Boldewijn will be missed but Notts must deal with the blow.

"Enzio provides goals and scores them as well but you have to roll with the punches,” he said.

“Injuries have tested us and we’ve been without our two main goalscorers in recent weeks, but both Jon and Kane have trained and we’re hopeful of them returning.

“We need our important people back and everyone pulling in the right direction, and those two are vastly experienced players.”

Chettle says Lewis Alessandra is also suffering with a knee issue but insisted Nathan Thomas is fine despite suffering cramp towards the end of Saturday’s game.

He is looking for the side to display more composure in possession against Carlisle as Notts look to end a run of seven games without a win.

"The Morecambe performance was much better in terms of effort and now we need more quality on the ball," said Chettle.

“If we get it into the right players in the right areas we will increase our goal tally.

“The longer you go without a win, the more apprehensive you get before the next match so now we need to get over the line even if it means winning ugly.”
