Notts County to launch senior women's team

21 May 2018

Notts County are to launch a senior women’s team ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Following the successful launch of the Notts County Girls Academy at the start of the 2017-18 season, Notts County will launch a senior team, Notts County Women, for the start of the new season in August.

On the announcement, Club chairman and owner Alan Hardy said “When we launched the girl's academy at the start of last season, we always had a plan to integrate this with a senior team to create an exit pathway for those graduating from the academy.

The rate at which we have progressed has been beyond our expectations and, after careful consultation with the Football Association, we have decided it is the right time to take the next step in our long-term plan.”

The club will be holding trials for unattached players on Sunday 27 May at Meadow Lane. Any interested players, who are eligible to play senior women’s football in the 2018-19 season, are asked to register for the trials by emailing Adam.Dunleavy@nottscountyfc.co.uk
