Terry Hawkridge was left frustrated after Notts County's 1-1 draw with Mansfield Town.
The winger scored his third goal of the season to give the Magpies the lead against his former club but County were pegged back in stoppage time as Kane Hemmings secured a point from the spot for the Stags.
And the 28-year-old thought Kevin Nolan's side were worthy of more than just a point.
"I thought we played really well today," he said.
"It was tough but I thought we dug in well, were the better side on the day and did enough to win the game but some decisions go your way and some don't.
"The lads are disappointed because it was a late goal and we thought we could hold on but we have to carry on and concentrate on the next game.
"This could prove to be a good point in the end."
