Notts County have agreed to terminate Liam Noble’s contract after the midfielder expressed a wish to move closer to home.
Noble returned to Meadow Lane for a second spell last season, making 21 appearances, but has this week informed the club of his desire to move back to his native north-east.
Notts owner and chairman Alan Hardy said: “Liam has had a very open and honest discussion with us and we were not going to stand in his way.
“We wish him the best of luck and will be continuing to pursue a number of transfer targets as we look to ensure the squad is ready come August.”
