Early bird price reinstated

A World Cup consolation from Alan

14 July 2018

Notts County owner and chairman Alan Hardy is combating the disappointment of England’s World Cup exit by reinstating early bird season ticket prices right up to kick-off against Colchester United on 4 August.

Alan was at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Wednesday night, where he witnessed the Three Lions’ courageous campaign come to an end at the hands of Croatia.

And, while he was devastated to see Gareth Southgate’s men fall at such a late stage, the chairman says he’ll be returning to the UK in buoyant mood – especially with Notts’ new campaign just around the corner.

“It was a truly incredible experience out in Russia,” he said. “Despite Wednesday night’s result, every single English supporter remained united behind their team.

"The hearts and minds of the nation have been touched and I'm sure we can now expect to see a whole new breed of football fans across the country.

“England's brave effort has really whetted my appetite for another season of excitement at Meadow Lane, with crowds set to rise once again as we gear up for another big promotion push.

“Throughout England’s World Cup campaign we have been offering discounted season tickets and I’ve been absolutely thrilled with the reaction of our fans.

“We’ve now comfortably passed the 3,000 mark, taking us well above last season’s total.

“Due to the incredible response, and to celebrate the sense of pride instilled by Southgate and his men, we will continue to offer the discounted price until the day our 2018-19 campaign kicks off.

“I hope that the World Cup has ignited some long-term stay-away fans' passion for the game and that this offer will give more supporters an opportunity to get closer to their club while acknowledging the amazing progress of our national team."
