Notts County beat Newport County 6-0 in their Premier League Cup qualifying match at Ilkeston Town this afternoon.
Young striker Remaye Campbell hit four and Lewis Alessandra added the other two as the Magpies ran out comprehensive victors.
Steve Chettle and Mark Crossley used the match as an opportunity to hand starts to the likes of Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain, Pierce Bird and Terry Hawkridge and were repaid with a dominant display.
Notts now progress to the group stage, where they will face Newcastle United, Southampton and Leeds United. Further details will be confirmed in due course.
