Notts County first-year scholar Dongda He has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee.
The 17-year-old Chinese midfielder is a product of the Magpies’ academy and broke into first-team circles for the first time this summer.
He trained regularly with Kevin Nolan’s group and impressed with appearances in Notts’ pre-season friendlies against Basford United and Leicester City, attracting interest from several Premier League and Championship clubs.
But the Magpies yesterday accepted a bid from Wolves which Alan Hardy believes to be a fair one for all parties.
“First and foremost, we’re very, very proud of Dongda,” said the Notts owner. “He’s a player this club has nurtured for many years and to see him get his move to the Premier League is fantastic.
“For us, it’s a lucrative deal which will only improve in time.
"Also, invaluably, it sends a clear message to young players – both our own and those who may join us in the future – that Notts County provides a pathway to success.”
