Notts County defender Pierce Bird has been called up to the latest Northern Ireland Under 21s squad.
The 19-year-old, who qualifies through his grandparents, will be in contention to face Luxembourg in a friendly on Thursday 6 September and Spain in a UEFA U21 European qualifying match on Tuesday 11 September.
As a result, Bird will be unavailable for the Magpies’ trips to Grimsby (Checkatrade Trophy – Tuesday 4 September) and Exeter City (Sky Bet League Two – Saturday 8 December).
