Jorge Grant says he is enjoying his purple patch in front of goal after taking his tally for the season to eight goals in all competitions.
Notts had a 1-0 lead thanks to Lewis Alessandra's second-minute strike at Exeter last night when the midfielder entered the fray.
And a brace from the in-form Forest loanee sealed an impressive three points on the road.
Grant now has four goals in his last three games but the midfielder was keen to reserve praise for his team-mates.
"The lads worked really hard which opened things up for me towards the end of the game," he said.
"Certain things just happen when you're playing well.
"I think Yatesy kicked me instead of the ball and it fell nicely for me to get my first and Jonathan Forte's assist was perfect for me to run on to for the third goal."
Like his manager, Grant remains determined to keep both feet on the ground despite Notts registering six successive league wins for the first time in more than seven years.
"Confidence is high but we have to keep level heads," he said. "We've had a great start but it's still early on in the season.
"We can't get too high when we win but, at the same time, we can't get too low when we lose."
