Nolan: We have to be at it

Manager wary of Yeovil threat ahead of midweek trip

20 November 2017

Kevin Nolan is refusing to underestimate tomorrow's opponents Yeovil Town.

The Glovers are currently 17th in the Sky Bet League Two table but, ahead of the 402-mile round trip to Huish Park, the Notts boss was keen to ensure his men don't take their foot off the gas as they look to retain their place at the top of the division.

"A lot of people will think we will go there and win easily but Yeovil have had some great wins against some of the top sides in this division," he said.

"They came here last season, made it difficult for us and could have come away with all three points in the end.

"I am expecting another tough game. We have to make sure we are at it because if we aren't then we will be punished because they have a lot of strengths but hopefully we have given the lads enough information so they know what to expect.

"Hopefully we can go there, put in a good performance and come away with three points."

While the manager lauded the efforts of the under-appreciated Shaun Brisley and Jon Stead, he was also full of collective praise for the players for the way in which they see out games.

"It's down to the team effort and work rate," said Nolan.

"I'm delighted with them. They are working so hard in training and we feel going in to the back end of games that we are getting stronger and stronger and can dominate teams.

"I feel we're kicking on in the final 20-30 minutes and leaving other teams behind. It's about making sure we maintain that and don't get carried away.

"We have to enjoy what we are doing at the minute and hopefully it will keep bringing the winning momentum to get another three points in the bag."
