Pierce Bird was thrilled to make his Notts County debut earlier this week.
The young defender made his bow as a senior professional in the 2-1 Checkatrade Trophy defeat at Lincoln City, completing the full 90 minutes.
"I was a bit nervous at first because I didn't think I would be making my debut so soon," he admitted.
"After scoring the own goal, which I couldn't do much about, I knew I had to make up for it throughout the game.
"But I thought it went quite well overall; I stood my ground.
"I took a lot in - what I did well and what I can improve on - and now I want to keep pushing to the first team and be on the bench a lot more."
Bird had a number of family members in the stands at Sincil Bank and it was a proud night for them too.
"My family were buzzing for me," he said.
"For some of them to see me playing for Notts County, who they support, it was a dream come true."
