Big-game mentality

10 March 2017

Notts County midfielder Jorge Grant is in confident mood heading into Saturday's match against Hartlepool United.

The midfielder has been in superb form since joining on loan from Nottingham Forest, scoring three goals in six games to help Notts secure crucial points in Sky Bet League Two.

And, with Hartlepool the visitors to Meadow Lane on Saturday, Grant fully believes the squad are capable of achieving another big result to push the Magpies away from the relegation zone.

He said: "It's a big game. We've dragged other teams in because of our performances and Hartlepool are one of them.

"I definitely think we can beat them. We're all confident in our ability to get out of this.

"The last home game [against Yeovil] was a frustrating 0-0 but hopefully this week we can get the goal and push on."

Grant's form reflects just how well he's settled into life on the north side of the Trent.

And the 22-year-old says he is already benefiting from training alongside manager Kevin Nolan.

He said: "Sometimes it takes you a little while to get used to playing with different players but I'm very happy with how I've adapted.

"I've played five or six games in a row now and it's good to be out there. I can start to express myself and show people what I can do.

"The manager is helping me a lot. He joins in training quite a bit and it's really good to see his movements. I can learn from that, and that's what I've got to do.

"Everything is a learning experience for me right now."
