An untimely equaliser

14 March 2017

Notts County manager Kevin Nolan believes Doncaster's equaliser shortly before half-time proved pivotal in tonight's defeat.

Rovers' James Coppinger levelled the scores just before the break after Richard Duffy had put Notts ahead.

And Nolan believes that proved to be an untimely turning point in the game.

He said: "I thought the lads were fantastic, although I was disappointed that we didn't continue to apply pressure after going 1-0 up.

"If we were still winning at half-time we could have regrouped and come back out with our tails up. Instead, we came in a bit flat and Doncaster were ready and raring to go.

"To go 2-1 down so soon after half-time was very disappointing but I thought the reaction from the boys was brilliant. We looked like we were going to get back in the game and go on from there.

"We're going away disappointed and they're probably thanking their lucky stars that they got a 3-1."

Notts are next in action on Sunday 19 March when they host Barnet at Meadow Lane. Click here for ticket details.
