Macesport sponsor Notts County

2 June 2017

International sports communications specialists Macesport have signed up to be Notts County’s first first main sponsor for the new season.

Macesport, headquartered in the Lace Market in Nottingham, will be the club's opening shirt sponsor for August, as well as agreeing a deal to be Notts' matchday trainingwear partner for the whole of 2017-18.

Lifelong Notts fan Paul Mace, who founded Macesport 12 years ago, has called on the regional business community to join owner Alan Hardy's Magpies revolution.

"Without Alan, Notts County would no longer be a Football League club. In six months he has completely transformed the culture, ambition and professionalism of the club.

"It is now beholding of the local business community to rally around Alan and support him. Notts are the only football club in Nottingham owned by a Nottinghamshire man who fully understands the heartbeat of the local community.

"It's an easy decision to show my support for Alan because of my lifelong passion for the club, my family's backing which goes back to the 1880s and my roots in Nottingham.

"Alan has invested a substantial seven-figure sum which saw a near instant doubling in attendances and a huge increase in families attending Meadow Lane. Equally, the business community now has to step up to the plate collectively and pledge their support too. We are all in this together.

"Restoring the world's oldest Football League club to its former glories is going to deliver substantial benefits to the regional economy. All local businesses - from the major international organisations, universities and local authorities, through to small family businesses - have employees who support Notts County and business employers need to reflect that with tangible support for Notts."

As part of the sponsorship deal, Macesport have designed a special commemorative Macesport logo which will incorporate the iconic single Magpie motif last worn by the club in the successful Jimmy Sirrel era which saw Notts compete in the top flight in the early 80s.

Under a new Notts sponsorship initiative introduced by Hardy which will raise over £100,000, a regional company will be Notts' main sponsor for each month of the 2017-18 season.

Mace recently wrote a 250,000-word book on Notts - entitled One Flew Over The Magpies Nest - which chronicled the past 50 years of the club and included interviews with a host of former players, managers and chairmen.

Macesport were recently ranked in America as one of the top 10 sports public relations and marketing companies in the world. They provide specialist sports communications services to a raft of international sports clubs, corporations and governing bodies including the NFL and Major League Soccer (MLS), Vauxhall's activation of their home nations football sponsorship of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, international bookmakers William Hill, the global F1 Air Race Series, the Professional Footballers Association, international football convention Soccerex and global sports pitch suppliers SIS Pitches who are providing the pitch for the 2018 World Cup final in Moscow.

A full list of shirt sponsors for the 2017-18 campaign will be revealed in due course.
