Notts County made it two wins from two pre-season games with a 2-0 victory over Basford United.
Dan Jones and Alex Howes were Notts' scorers on an afternoon when manager Kevin Nolan again opted to field two different line-ups in each half.
Jones opened the scoring when his free-kick from a wide position found its way through a crowded penalty area and into the net.
And Notts' lead was doubled before the break when young midfielder Howes silkily dummied his way past a defender and finished coolly beyond the Basford keeper.
The hosts were proving themselves worthy competitors, however, striking the bar twice and drawing a strong save from Adam Collin before the break.
Notts stood firm, though, and had chances through Jon Stead and Peter Dearle in a second half which saw Curtis Thompson replaced by young winger Remaye Campbell due to a hamstring injury.
But 2-0 was how it stayed on another productive afternoon for the Magpies.
