Absolutely fantastic

Notts County manager Kevin Nolan branded his side's performance 'absolutely fantastic' in this afternoon's 2-1 victory against Cheltenham.

Nolan oversaw his second successive home victory as the Magpies put the Robins to the sword and he was thrilled with his team's display.

The boss said: "I've got to take my hat off to the boys - they were absolutely fantastic.

"We created a lot of chances, which is very pleasing, and hopefully we can now start to chip away at the goal difference we've inherited over the last few months.

"The more games we win, the more the confidence comes back. Attention now turns to the next game. We've got to make sure we're professional and ready for Tuesday.

"It's going to be another tough one and it's about building momentum."

A crowd of just under 8,000 witnessed the victory and Nolan praised chairman and owner Alan Hardy's decision to discount tickets for the match.

He said: "Hats off to the chairman. That's what it's all about - trying to get the youngsters here to support us.

"The fans been absolutely brilliant since Alan and I came in and we want to keep paying them back with good performances and results on the pitch."
