Nolan hails 'incredible' support

14 April 2017

Notts County manager Kevin Nolan thanked the 1,069 Notts fans who made the trip to Crewe following this afternoon's 2-2 draw.

The travelling Magpies witnessed an enthralling encounter which ended all square after Notts had twice taken the lead.

And Nolan was thrilled to see the away end packed out.

He said: "I thought our fans were incredible all through the game. I thank them all for their support - the lads and I really appreciate it.

"If you get those numbers travelling with you you're going to start sneaking up that table and things start looking positive for next year."

Nolan was less pleased with errors in the build up to both Crewe's goals, but maintains a sense of perspective given how much the team have grown under his management.

He said: "We gifted them two goals today and if we had eradicated those mistakes we would have had a relatively easy day, I think.

"Some of our play was really good today in difficult conditions - it was a bit windy out there - and I thought we were very worthy of a win.

"We're absolutely gutted it's a 2-2 draw but how good is it that we're talking like that now, instead of coming away thinking 'we've had another loss and we've got a lot of work to do'?"

Next up for Notts is Portsmouth on Easter Monday (3pm). A big crowd is expected and supporters are urged to buy their tickets in advance online. Click here for more information.
