Notts County captain Michael O'Connor pulled no punches in his assessment of today's defeat to Accrington Stanley.
The Magpies were beaten 2-0 by John Coleman's side and O'Connor was very disappointed with the display.
He said: "I thought that was awful. We started off OK but we conceded first again – every game this season we’ve conceded first.
"We dropped deep, there was no energy. I can’t remember us having a shot really and I think that was the biggest disappointment. Usually we’re good going forward but today we didn’t test the keeper enough.
"I thought Accrington were very good – once they went 2-0 up they just shut up shop and we couldn’t get through them. We started going long and couldn’t drop on the seconds."
Next up for Notts is a trip to Cheltenham Town on Saturday.
O'Connor said: "The gaffer’s told us to stick together. We’re going to have disappointing games – today we weren’t on it.
"It’s done now – we move on to next week and hopefully we can get back on an unbeaten run.
"Hopefully we’ll have a good week on the training ground and get the three points in the next game – but we know we’ll have to be better than that today."
