Team news: Luton Town (H)

27 October 2016

Notts County manager John Sheridan has provided an update on Jon Stead and several other players ahead of the weekend visit of Luton Town.

Stead has been absent since injuring his ankle in the 1-1 draw against Crewe Alexandra on 15 October and his manager confirmed the forward will be unavailable this weekend.

Sheridan said: “I spoke to Steady a couple of days ago. His ankle is still a bit sore, and I don’t like putting timescales on these things.

“Head physio John feels it will be around six weeks but we’ll have to wait and see what the diagnosis is and whether or not Jon is a quick healer.

“You’re probably looking towards Christmas now."

Sheridan had encouraging news to report on other players, however.

He said: “Michael O’Connor is fit, Vadaine (Oliver) is fit. Curtis (Thompson) has been training with the first team which is great for him as he’s been training on his own a lot.

"(Genaro) Snijders is also back in training with the first team, so we’ve got a strong squad."

Sheridan's full pre-match press conference will be available to view on Magpie Player HD later.
