Notts County's head groundsman Trevor Hutchinson has provided an update on the condition of the Meadow Lane pitch ahead of tonight's match against Cambridge United.
Persistent rain has fallen in the area recently but Trevor is confident the match will go ahead as planned.
He said: "The pitch has drained really, really well overnight. We’ve got a few isolated areas of standing water – there’s probably an hour-and-a-half’s work required to fork those away.
"If the forecasters have got it right – and they’ve done us proud so far this year – this rain is supposed to stop at midday and the pitch will drain away on its own.
"We can already see the volume of water that’s drained through the night so we know it’ll go.
"While the rain’s still falling it’s best just to stay off it – let nature take its course. The minute the rain stops, work starts!"
