Notts County fan Tully Kearney selected for the Team GB Paralympics Swimming Team at Rio 2016

24 May 2016

Our congratulations to Nottingham born Magpies fan Tully Kearney, 19, who has been selected for the squad to represent Great Britain at the Paralympics in Rio De Janeiro.

Kearney, who comes from a family of season ticket holders, has previously won four golds, one silver and a bronze medal at the IPC World Swimming Championships, and will now represent Great Britain on the grandest stage of all in Rio De Janeiro.

We invited Tully to bring her medals along to Meadow Lane (pictured above in the Wheelers Suite), and gave her and her family complimentary hospitality tickets in the final game of the season against Carlisle United in recognition of her standout performances and achievements. Since then, she has gone a step further in being selected for Team GB, much to the delight of her family and everyone at Notts County Football Club.

Her Granddad, Jim Lowe, said, "We had a fantastic day after being given the corporate treatment at Meadow Lane. The whole family very much enjoyed it, but none more so than Tully."

"She has a hectic schedule and can't get to Meadow Lane as much as she'd like, as she is also studying for a degree in Manchester. A few seasons ago she managed to meet Shaun Derry when he was manager, which was a great day for her, and she loves coming back to support the Magpies when she can."

"Thank you to all at Notts County FC who made our day very special, in spite of the result!".

You can send your congratulations to Tully via our Facebook page or on our Twitter, and we will pass these on to Tully and her family.
