The date of the Mike Edwards Testimonial Match against Nottingham Forest has been confirmed as Saturday 23rd July 2016, with a 3pm kick off.
The Reds will make the short trip across the River Trent to Meadow Lane to help us prepare for the 2016/17 season and celebrate Edwards' ten-year stint with Notts.
The Football League granted the 35 year-old a testimonial year after a committee were successful with their application to honour him.
The central defender has made over 340 appearances for the club during the course of his two spells and was a part of the the team who lifted the League 2 title in the 2009/10 season under the guidance of Steve Cotterill.
After leaving Meadow Lane to join Carlisle United in 2012, Edwards re-joined County for the 2014/15 campaign, taking on the role as strength and conditioning coach as well as registering as a player.
He has recently been back in the side and has been impressing under new manager Mark Cooper.
Edwards said: "I'm delighted and humbled to have been given a testimonial and I have a lot of people to thank.
"During my time here I've played in a few pre-season games against Forest and, of course, the League Cup tie. They have always been great occasions and that made it an ideal choice. It's a great match to be involved in whether it be a pre-season friendly or as a competitive game.
"It's also good for the city of Nottingham with it being announced as the City of Football so it can bring the two clubs together. It would be fantastic if it were to be more of a regular occurrence.
"I'd like to give a big thank you to those involved at Forest for agreeing to the match, which I'm really looking forward to."
Mike has recently enjoyed a golf day at Ramsdale Golf Course as part of his Testimonial year, as well as 'An Evening With' event in which himself and guests Alan Smith and Roy Carroll took to the stage in the Meadow Lane Sports Bar.
