Team Mates Reunited: Rob Milsom on former Rotherham team mate and new Notts signing Adam Collin

16 June 2016

They won promotion to the Championship together in 2014 in a dramatic Wembley shootout together. Now they're reunited as Adam Collin signs for the Magpies. We hear the thoughts of Milsom on Collin...

"The League One season spent together at Rotherham was one of fond memories", recalls Milsom, who signed a two year deal with Notts County in June 2015 after his contract expired with Rotherham.

The Millers finished 4th in the League One table that season, with Milsom and Collin playing a large part in their league success and subsequent success at Wembley. After dispatching of Preston North End in the semi final, they came up against a Leyton Orient side who had finished above them in the table.

The stage was set for Collin to become the hero, saving two penalties in the shootout after the game had ended 2-2 after extra time.

Milsom said, "Adam played an absolutely huge part in winning that game".

"Those saves at Wembley in a play off final were not only massive for him, but massive for us as a team".

Both players went on to play another season for Rotherham in the Championship, with Milsom making 10 appearances and Collin playing pretty much the entire season between the sticks, with 36 league appearances in the Championship.

Milsom was full of praise for Collin upon hearing the news of his signing, and anticipates a good problem in terms of selection for Notts to have.

"He's a very dependable keeper. You don't see many mistakes. You always know what you're going to get with him and it is fantastic to have two dependable, quality goalkeepers on the books battling for the number one jersey!"

Collin has signed on a two year deal at Notts.
