Notts County Sign Winger Alex Rodman

24 June 2016

The Magpies are pleased to announce the signing of 29 year-old winger Alex Rodman.

Rodman comes highly rated from Newport County, playing 25 times for the Exiles last season in the league, and scoring four goals, one of which came at Meadow Lane in December.

Alex is no stranger to Notts manager John Sheridan, who managed Rodman at Newport last season and makes him his third signing since joining the Magpies in May.

Winger Rodman has a wealth of experience, and has also played for Gateshead, Tamworth, Grimsby Town and York City in a career spanning over a decade.

In his first interview since joining Notts, the full version which will be available exclusively on Magpie Player HD later today, Alex said he was extremely happy to be at Meadow Lane, after turning down a contract offer from Newport, and spoke about how John Sheridan being at the club influenced his decision:

"I've worked with him before - he came in when we were having a bad spell at Newport last year and he turned the tide around.

"I know how he works, I know how he likes to play and what he wants from his players, and that was a big factor in me coming here."
