Notts County Represented at Elite Sports Performance Conference

9 June 2016

Notts County’s Matt Lawson has been invited to talk at the Elite Sports Performance conference at the London ExCel Arena this coming Wednesday.

The conference is designed to showcase the latest evidence of best practice in sports performance for athletes around the world. Matt, who is a Registered Dietitian with a Masters degree in Nutrition, will be discussing how nutritional strategies can help athletes perform to the highest level. As well as with Notts County’s players of all ages over the years, Matt has worked with Team GB at international level including Gold medallist Natalie Blake.

The event is described as the most comprehensive performance conference in Europe. Matt, who is also doing his UEFA Coaching badges, has recently won the 2016 Coach of the Year award for work with Women’s football teams. This included tough competition from other coaches in the area including Leicester City legend Matty Elliott.

Matt said “I am looking forward to being at the ExCel and will be sure to promote this great Club. The coaching badges and the award are important to me as not only does it allow me to put sessions on, it gives me the chance to implement my nutritional knowledge in a football context.”
