In his first interview since becoming Assistant Manager at Notts County, Mark Crossley spoke exclusively to Magpie Player HD...
No stranger to Nottingham, the man known as 'Big Norm' spoke to the media team at Notts County, and is optimistic for the season ahead.
When asked what can be expected in the coming season, Crossley was full of confidence and expectation.
He said, "I think [Notts fans] can expect some attractive football, we will certainly be attacking. John likes to play attacking football, but last season there were too many goals conceded. It's not rocket science".
"We will be looking to close that door up. We've already made one signing, a good goalkeeper in Adam Collin who I like. I like Scott Loach as well, so straight away you've got competition for goalkeeping and from my experience, they will bring out the best in each other."
Former Chesterfield goalkeeping coach Crossley confirmed that they will be looking to put that mindset into practice across the board.
He said, "We'll be looking at that in all positions. Whoever is performing will play".
"Eventually they will get used to the style of play that John likes which will be entertaining football. We are sure that the fans here will enjoy what we are trying to do."
Crossley's optimistic comments are bound to be music to the ears of Notts fans, who endured a disappointing season last term, but the 6ft 4" former Premier League shot stopper urged for patience from the supporters.
He stated, "It's going to take time, it's not going to happen overnight. New players will be coming in and obviously there's a few who have already left. But we will be getting the best out of the new ones and integrating them together".
"We are going to be building up a really good team spirit and a winning formula".
