Forward Forte Returns to Meadow Lane

1 July 2016

Striker Jonathan Forte joins the Magpies as Sheridan bolsters his squad further...

Notts County are delighted to announce our seventh summer signing of a busy summer, highly rated striker Jonathan Forte from Oldham Athletic, on a two year deal.

Sheffield born Forte has played at international level with Barbados, and has had an illustrious career at league level.

Forte is no stranger to Meadow Lane. Notts fans will remember Jonathan from two previous loan spells with the Magpies. The first was on loan from Scunthorpe United, where he impressed with a return of four goals in four games in 2008.

The loan was renewed, and, he made a further 14 appearances for the Magpies, with another four Notts goals under his belt.

His second spell with the club was while with Premier League Southampton, when in 2012 he rejoined Notts and scored five goals in 10 games.

The acquisition of Forte continues a trend set over the course of our summer dealings in the transfer market, with Forte having a wealth of experience at much higher levels than League Two.

Forte is delighted to return to Meadow Lane. He said, "It's going to be third time lucky! Obviously the Gaffer is here, I had him at Oldham, I really enjoyed being under him".

"I love Notts County as well. This is my [third] time here, and I did well for them before so I thought it was the right time to come back."
