Nicky Wroe has left Notts County after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.
Midfielder Wroe - recently on loan at Halifax Town - was signed in June 2014 but found first team football hard to come by with the arrivals of Alan Smith, Liam Noble and Gary Jones.
With over 300 Football League appearances to his name, the termination frees him up to find regular football elsewhere having recently captained Halifax Town during his short spell at the Shay Stadium.
Head Of Recruitment Guy Branston said the following about the news: “We wish Nicky all the best in his future pursuits. He’s had considerable interest for him to go elsewhere with the opportunity of first team football which he wasn’t guaranteed here.
“It’s been great to work with him at Notts but all parties feel this is the best decision at this moment in time.”
