Notts County FC appoint Marketing and Media Executive.

29 February 2016

Notts County FC are pleased to announce the appointment of Benedict Mason as Marketing and Media Executive....

The Media department has expanded to incorporate Marketing, and the appointment of Benedict is the first in a number of developments on this front.

A self-professed ‘huge’ football fan, Benedict has great experience and expertise working in fast paced climates where Marketing and Media go hand in hand.

“Having previously worked in the music industry, I fully understand how fine the lines between Marketing and Media are, and how they are progressively being blurred. Utilising this is key nowadays in the football environment, and I believe my experience and acumen can make a difference.”

“As much as I am not a fan of footballing cliches, Notts County Football Club are in a transitionary period right now, and I am proud to be a part of it.”

Asked about some potential developments within Marketing and Media, Benedict said, “As a club, we have possibly been relatively slow off the mark in the past with regards to social media, and we are now looking to evolve and advance. Facebook, Twitter et al are now primary platforms to interact and build relationships with our fans and the wider community. Developing the Notts County brand through all forms of media will be a critical aspect of my role.”

“I am looking to build on some of the work previously done at the club, as we do particular things very well. Having taking on board feedback from fans, I  can also acknowledge that certain things may not have been done as well as they could have been in the past, particularly with regards to communication on a club-fan level. I plan to address this and go beyond, providing transparency and consistency online and on all media platforms to benefit the supporters, and aid the advancement of this club on and off the pitch."

Chief Executive Julian Winter added, “As part of our restructuring behind the scenes we looked for the motivation, desire and skills to match the needs of the club moving forward, whilst understanding football and the needs of fans of this club."

“Benedict fits this mould, and signals the beginning of a time of change within the back-room staff at this club”
