Notts County manager John Sheridan says new signing Aaron Collins will bring 'pace' and 'energy' to Meadow Lane.
The Magpies have signed the 19-year-old on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers until January.
And Sheridan is pleased to sign a player he previously worked with at Newport County.
Speaking after tonight's Checkatrade Trophy win over Hartlepool, he said: "I was the manager when we sold him to Wolves - Jason Turner (Notts chief executive) and I were involved.
"He's got a lot of potential - he's quick, he can play up front and wide right. He's got good energy.
"Wolves believe in him - he's been doing really well in their 21s. I believe he can be a really good asset to us.
"He's looking forward to working with us and hopefully playing a lot of games. He'll be involved on Saturday."
Sheridan is looking forward to Saturday's visit of Grimsby after seeing his side beat Hartlepool 2-1 in the group stage of the Checkatrade Trophy this evening.
He said: "We've won - that's the most important thing in my eyes. We now look forward to the Grimsby game - the league programme is most important - and hopefully we can get three points.
"It's a good habit, winning football matches. I made a lot of changes, as Hartlepool did, but it was nice to win the game.
"In the first half I thought at times we looked really sharp and bright."
