Jonathan Forte thought Notts County showed attacking promise at Yeovil
Notts were beaten 2-0 by the Glovers on the opening day of the Sky Bet League Two season.
Forte put in a lively display and saw a number of efforts blocked as John Sheridan's men tried in vain to record their first goal of the campaign.
But they were unable to do so and Forte and his team-mates were left frustrated by the team's slow start, particularly given their improvement after the break.
"That's usually the case when you're losing," Forte said after the match. "Everyone wants to step up and play because there's no fear because you're losing already. But we should be doing it from the start and getting the wins.
"Yeovil are a good team but I think we attacked better. It wasn't to be - it's a 2-0 victory to them and we're obviously disappointed."
Forte received lengthy treatment in the first half after colliding with a defender when it looked like he was set to race through on goal.
The forward said: "He pushed me while I was probably one stride away from getting away from him and I think his leg locked into mine.
"I think it's just a bit of bone bruising - I should be fine on Tuesday."
