Become a Knight of Notts and raise funding for FITC by walking from Meadow Lane to the OneCall Stadium on the 16th of April for the local derby match between the Magpies and the Stags.
FITC will leave Meadow Lane at 6.30am to arrive in time for the 1pm kick-off. We’re expecting the 15-mile walk to be fun and have chosen a varied route so we pass through the countryside via Papplewick, Newstead Abbey and Thieves Wood on the way to Mansfield.
We will walk the first part of the route alongside a group of Mansfield fans who are also fundraising for visual impairments charity so we expect the atmosphere to be good-natured.
Tickets are still available for the game and there is still a chance for you to join us and show your support for the club as well as representing FITC. All proceeds from the event will go towards the charity’s work and will be spent here in Nottingham.
There will be a bus service to take you back home from Mansfield after the game, allowing you to recover and hopefully celebrate a big win for the Magpies!
Players are also in support of the event. Midfielder Alan Smith said: “FITC’s work does great things for Nottingham’s community and for the reputation of the football club with local people. I hope as many fans as possible get involved and support this event as it’s a great way to support the club’s charity, give back to the community and support the players. I’m sure there will be great atmosphere during the walk and this is a chance for fans to show the Stags what we’re made of.”
Entry costs £15 per person and all proceeds will go towards FITC’s award-winning charity projects.
To sign up contact FITC on 0115 955 7215 or visit their office Monday to Friday (just left of the MLSB) between 9am and 5pm.
