Dan Leivers Appointed as Head of Academy Coaching

5 October 2015

Dan Leivers has been appointed as Head of Academy Coaching at Notts County Football Club...

Dan was previously the Lead Development Phase Coach in the academy, but has now been appointed to take over the role vacated by Mick Halsall, who has been appointed as Academy Manager at Notts County.

Speaking to Magpie PlayerHD, Dan explained how his duties in the academy will change, “Part of my role now is to oversee the coaching on the under 18’s side. Taking them everyday for training and match days and also implementing things across the academy with the coaching structure and supporting Mick (Halsall) with the academy management.”

He added, “It’s about producing players for us. Although we want to keep a good environment across the phases and the age groups we ultimately want to get players into the first team.”

Dan also highlighted the important role that the academy plays at Notts County, “It’s massive, resources at lower levels are never as big as at a Premier League club.  It would be great for us to push more players through and have a sustained success with them making 50 appearances or more for the first team.”
