The Enemy Victorious at Football Rocks

20 May 2015

The Enemy came out on top to lift the inaugural Football Rocks trophy at Meadow Lane...

Coventry band The Enemy came out on top of eight teams, including Reverend & The Makers and local artists Jake Bugg and the Swiines, to lift the trophy in the first ever Football Rocks tournament.

All proceeds from the day went to the British Heart Foundation and the Robin Hoodie Foundation.

Commercial Director Damian Irvine was pleased with how the tournament went, "A large part of our commercial strategy going into this close season was to encourage and support new events and use of Meadow Lane in the window before the pitch renovations begin."

"Football Rocks was a feature of this and working with Rory and Scott of Local band The Swiines was a real pleasure. The guys secured a number of popular bands from around the UK to play in a knock out tournament and after party in the MLSB."

"We had people travel from Wales, the far south, the USA and Argentina to attend the day and support the British heart foundation and Jake Buggs Robin Hoodie Foundation. Coventry's The Enemy took the cup on the day and are taking it home to Ricoh to have it displayed in the clubs trophy cabinet, they are committed to defending the title next year! “
