Moniz: In Bad Times, Character Is Shown

3 May 2015

Manager Ricardo Moniz was in a state of shock after Notts conceded three goals and were relegated to League One on Sunday…

The Magpies were 1-0 up over Gillingham, with just two minutes to go, but conceded three times and were send down into the bottom tier of the Football League.

The boss spoke to the local media post-match.

He told Magpie Player:“It’s a disaster. With five minutes to go, everything was in our own hands. We gave it away.

“This is a massive disappointment. The boys didn’t deserve it. With five minutes to go, after the last game. It is a massive shock at the moment.

“Last game we won, and that was the first win in a while. He hoped to turn the flow, everything looks good with five minutes to go. We were on six points from two games, but it wasn’t.

“In bad times character is shown I always say. In bad times, people have to keep their heads up because again this club needs to look up especially in these bad times.

“Everybody was so hungry, so focused to get the three points, but when it slips out your hands with five minutes to go we will never forget.”
