New signing Robert Milsom is looking forward to thriving under Ricardo Moniz’s style of football....
Despite having other offers on the table, the former Rotherham midfielder told Magpie Player Notts County was the most appealing, especially after a chat with the manager.
“I was really impressed with how he wants to play, he’s got big ambitions for this club and to get them promoted. That’s something that appeals to me a lot, with his style of football, I think that’ll suit the way I like to play as well, so that was really appealing to me."
Having achieved promotion with Rotherham in 2014, the midfielder only has his eyes set on reaching League 1 with The Magpies.
“The season we got promoted from league 1 was an enjoyable season. I know the effort and commitment it takes to get promoted and go all the way like we did in the play-off final. It’s a long hard season and we’ve got to grind out results. Sometimes it’s not pretty but we’ve got top be focused in getting promoted at the end of the season.”
Milsom, who started his career at Fulham, is looking forward to getting a run of games under his belt, but appreciates that the main aim is promotion.
“I want to play week in week out, enjoy my football and to get this club promoted. The club’s too big to be in this league I believe, but we’ve got to prove this on the pitch and get promoted this season, that’s definitely the main aim.”
