The club were delighted to hear that another medical intern has secured a permanent job within the industry…
Lizzie Read will join Mansfield Town as Assistant First Team Therapist after spending a year working closely with the medical team for the 2014.15 season.
She was hugely influential in ensuring players had rehab plans in place and also was key to striker Jimmy Spencer’s return after a long-term injury.
Lizzie told the Official Site: “I’m chuffed and delighted to get a role within the Football League.
“I can’t thank the staff at Meadow Lane more. The internship was massive and I wouldn’t have got this opportunity without it.
“I learnt so much during my time at Notts, so I will forever be grateful to the likes of John (Wilson) and Becky (Knight). I’d like to thank them.
“To be able to get that foot in the door is huge and the programme is hugely beneficial. The club made you feel like part of the team.
“There’s now a few of us that have gone through the programme and finding full-time work, so I’d encourage as many others looking for experience within the field to contact the club.
“The internship is now leading the way as one of the best in the country for those that want to get hands-on and learn.”
The much-acclaimed internship offers the chance for students to learn through continued professional development through in-house teaching within the medical team.
