Notts made it four pre-season wins in a row after a 3-2 victory over Alfreton Town.
Goals from striker Jimmy Spencer, a trialist and a header from centre half Haydn Hollis gave the Magpies the win.
Defensive Coach Dean Yates spoke to the media post-match.
He told Magpie Player: “We played some nice stuff at times, in good areas, there are still things we need to improve on, we conceded two sloppy goals.
“But overall it’s similar to the other four games and we are improving all the time, and of course our fitness is improving and that’s the main thing.
“We are splitting the teams up and it can be difficult with so many changes, but to be fair, the lads are working really hard.
“We are a forward going side and defensively we will keep working on it. We are pleased with our progress and there’s still time to look at the trialists.”
