The Magpies have agreed terms with former Newcastle United striker Adam Campbell on a two-year deal…
The 20-year-old, who can also play on the wing, has been on trial with the club the past week and has impressed in training to earn himself a deal.
The 5’7 winger arrived at United in 2012 and played three times in a three year spell, including his first competitive debut against Atromitos in the UEFA Europa League to become the club’s youngest player to play in European a competition.
Campbell also played against Stoke City in the Premier League and helped Papiss Cisse score the winner in 2013.
The quick and tricky wideman has also represented his country for the Under 16s, 17s and 19s.
He also gained experience out on loan at Carlisle United, Fleetwood and Hartlepool United.
His last spell away from St James’ Park was earlier this year at Gateshead where he scored three times in eight matches.
