Goalkeeper Scott Loach Joins Magpies

15 July 2015

Goalkeeper Scott Loach has joined Notts County Football Club on a two-year deal…

The 27-year-old from Nottingham is the club’s 13th summer signing as the Magpies look to bounce back into League One at the first attempt.

Having played closer to 250 times between the sticks, he will bring plenty of experience and will rival current number one Roy Carroll for the first team spot.

The 6’4 shot stopper started his professional career at Watford where he spent six years, playing 154 times.

He was a key member of the squad and was an ever present for the Hornets two years running, playing 130 consecutive league appearances.

He also spent time out on loan at Stafford Rangers, Morecambe and Bradford City where he gained further experience as a young pro.

Having learnt his trade at Ipswich Town as a youngster, he returned to the club to sign a professional deal in 2012 and went onto play 27 times.

From there he moved to Rotherham United where he played twice, but found game-time hard to come by.

Most recently last season, he went out on loan to Bury, Peterborough United and Yeovil Town, making 13 appearances.

A keeper with great pedigree and reputation, he was also capped for England Under 21s in 2009 and also travelled with the squad for the European Championships in 2009 playing once against Germany.

He has also received two call-up’s to the senior side for the friendly against Hungary in 2010 and was also in the squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland.

Fans can sponsor Scott’s full kit, training kit and boots and socks by contacting the club’s Commercial Team on 0115 9557 241 or e-mail: sales@nottscountyfc.co.uk
