The Magpies made it four friendly victories in a row with a 3-2 victory over Alfreton Town on Saturday.

The hosts took the lead after a defensive mix-up, but the Magpies rallied with Alan Smith hitting the bar from close range.

The equaliser did arrive before the half-time interval thanks to a fantastic control, turn and shot from striker Jimmy Spencer.

Notts went ahead through a trialist and made it 3-1 thanks to defender Haydn Hollis powering a head from Adam Campbell's corner.

Town scored a wonderful free-kick, but Notts held on thanks to goalkeeper Roy Carroll's smart double save to keep the winning run going.

The Magpies now face Port Vale away on Tuesday, before they play Grimsby Town also away on Saturday.
