Halsall: It's An Important Time For The Squad

Head of Academy Coaching Mick Halsall has challenged his players to earn a new deal at the club.

The squad have 11 games remaining in the season, with the team currently in third position.

They face Rotherham United at Arnold Town (11am kick-off) on Saturday, before making the short trip to face Mansfield Town next Thursday.

Halsall has challenged his players to earn a new professional contract at Meadow Lane.

He told the Official Site: "It's big and important time for them. They've all got to show that they can perform consistently to get them over the line and to secure a professional contract.

"We played them earlier in the season and we were on a run where we couldn't find a win. We went there and played quite poorly first half, but played really well second half. We were 1-0 down, missed a penalty and then ran out of steam and left disappointed.

"We believe we've developed a lot since then and it will be interesting to see how we do.

"We don't tend to look at the table too much, we are preparing properly and give the lads an insight of what we want to achieve for the final games."

The squad is fully fit with no new injuries over the New Year.
