Adams: I Just Put The Ball In The Box And Luckily Billy Was There

18 January 2015

Blair Adams was delighted to have laid on the cross for the winning goal on Saturday...

Defender Blair Adams was full of praise for new signing Billy Daniels who scored the winning goal from his left-wing cross late on in Notts County’s victory over Crewe Alexandra at Meadow Lane.

Adams admitted that it had been a hard-earned win for Notts against a Crewe side who arrived at Meadow Lane on a good run of form, but he was delighted to link-up with Daniels, who we also a team-mate with at their former club Coventry City, to provide the winning goal.

He told the media after the game: “It was a tough game, they’ve come here and came to frustrate us. We let in a poor goal early in the second half and had to really grind out to pick up the three points, but thankfully it’s another three on the board.

“I think we were getting a lot of crosses in, it must have been well over 20 or 30 crosses, so one of them had to go in and thankfully it was mine.

“It was a great finish from Billy. He’d only just come on five or ten minutes before then as well so it was a good debut for him and I’m really pleased for him.

“I know Billy from my last club so I know the ability that Billy’s got so I just put the ball in the box and luckily Billy was there to put it away for us.”
