Three Scholars Offered Professional Deals

13 April 2015

The club can confirm that three second-year scholars have been offered a professional deal at Meadow Lane…

Striker Colby Bishop had previously put pen to paper on a deal in November after impressing in the Youth Team.

The former Central College Nottingham student has also featured for the First Team this campaign, playing three times over the Christmas period.

Meanwhile Youth Team captain Jordan Richards, the son of former Notts great Pedro, has been offered a professional contract.

The right-back possesses good pace and is also comfortable in midfield.

Lartey Sarpong is the third member of the squad to be offered a deal after a season which saw him score nine times from midfield.

The former Bromley FC man joined the Magpies after being spotted by one of the club’s London scouts. He is comfortable on the ball and is strong in the tackle.

Head Of Academy Coaching Mick Halsall told the Official Site: “Having come in last year, I have to be very complimentary of the attitudes and application of all the lads in training and what we try to do.

“We are always conscious to give opportunities to the players to progress and it’s very important for their development.

“It’s very difficult to obtain a professional contract, whatever club you are at and we feel on reflection the three boys that have achieved that success, have done so on full merit.

“We would like to think that the work that we will do with them in the foreseeable future, going into next season, they will progress even further.”

The club would like to thank Rhys Myers, Kieran Duncan, Kyle Symons, Gino Kelleher, Reece Fyfe, Elliot Brown and Alex Kenlock for their dedication and commitment to the club over the past two years and would like to wish them all the very best for the future.
