Pilkington To Shave off Charitable Beard

30 April 2015

Kevin Pilkington has been growing his beard to help find a cure for Batten Disease...

Since 9 August 2014, our Goalkeeping Coach/Kit Manager and player Kevin Pilkington has been growing his beard in a bid to raise money towards the efforts to find a cure for Batten Disease, an inherited fatal disorder of the nervous system, for which there is currently no cure.

All the money raised from Pilkington's efforts will be sent to the Just Giving fundraising of Andrew Dawkins, whose twin children, Freddie and Louie, both suffer from the illness. You can read more on Andrew's story and how the money will be used on his Just Giving page, where you can also donate towards the cause.

Kevin will be shaving off his beard on Saturday 2 May, the day before our final game of the season, away to Gillingham, and almost nine months since he last shaved.

Every donation helps towards this very worthy cause, to donate please click here.
