Paul Hart And Mick Halsall To Continue For Foreseeable Future

1 April 2015

Caretaker Managerial duo Paul Hart and Mick Halsall will continue to take charge of the first team...

Notts County can confirm that following discussions with Acting Academy Manager Paul Hart, both he and Head of Academy Coaching Mick Halsall will continue to take charge of the first team for the foreseeable future.

The duo, who took charge of the first team for the Sky Bet League 1 game against Scunthorpe United at the weekend, will be assisted in their role by Dave Kevan, who joined the first team coaching staff this week.

Hart held discussions with Notts CEO Aileen Trew this week to discuss the best way for the club to proceed as the search continues for a permanent successor to Shaun Derry, who parted company with Notts last week, and it was agreed that the interim managerial setup would remain in control, with the addition of Kevan, for the foreseeable future.

Mrs Trew explained: “I held very productive discussions with Paul Hart this week about his involvement with the first team and how we both saw that progressing and I am delighted that he has agreed to remain in charge for the important games that we have coming up.

“Whilst we are continuing to look for a permanent successor to Shaun Derry, I cannot praise both Paul and Mick [Halsall] highly enough for their professionalism and dedication to the club.

“Both are a credit to Notts County and we are lucky to have them on board, both for the incredible amount that they bring to our Academy, but also for their willingness to help the club in any way they can.”

Notts travel to Walsall on Friday before playing host to Coventry City here at Meadow Lane on Easter Monday and Hart has continued his work this week to prepare the team for both important fixtures.
