Throwback Thursday: Hughesy's Equaliser In Turin

11 September 2014

Three years ago this week Notts visited Juventus to open their stadium...

Notts travelled to Turin in September 2011 to play against the 'Old Lady' in a friendly to open Juventus' new stadium.

The Magpies spoilt the party though with a late goal from striker Lee Hughes, who equalised Luca Toni's tap in from a penalty after goalkeeper Rob Burch saved Fabio Quagliarella's spot-kick.

The club had been invited to play after the 108-year link from when Juve adopted the famous black and white stripes.

The club would like to thank Bowles Associates, JMS Photography, Action Images, Dan Westwell and the Nottingham Post for supporting the NCFC History archives.

Look out for more classic photographs every Thursday.
